“At Worlds 2025 in Prague, I sometimes felt like the rule for bimetals had become: wider, more complicated – and preferably above 150 euros. That is exactly why I find Z04 so refreshing.
For dramatically less money, you get aluminum, stainless-steel weight rings and even polycarbonate outer rims. It feels fast, powerful and surprisingly smooth. And those PC rims do more than look cool – they also add a layer of protection around the metal rims. Z04 is one of those YoYos that makes you wonder how the price is even possible.”
Z04 combines an aluminum body with stainless-steel weight rings and polycarbonate outer rims.
The aluminum body provides the precise foundation, the stainless-steel rings move a significant amount of mass outward for spin power and stability, while the transparent PC rims create the distinctive appearance and a softer outer edge.
During wide competition tricks, a YoYo can occasionally hit the floor, your arm or another obstacle. The outer polycarbonate rims sit around the stainless-steel rings and can absorb part of those contacts.
That does not make the YoYo indestructible, of course – but it is a clever combination of design, feel and added rim protection.
What matters most about Z04 is not the material list but that the complete package works: strong power, good speed, a generous catch zone and a smooth play feel.
If you already know how to Bind and want as much competition performance as possible for your money, this is an unusually strong package.
