SKILFINGR: D-Bearing. Solid Core. Built for the demands of modern 5A.

The SKILFINGR is Naoki Uemae’s latest signature throw for the 5A division – rebuilt from the ground up to match the evolution of modern counterweight play. Together with renowned designer Kengo Kido, YoYoEmpire introduces three major innovations:

1. D-Bearing for more spin with short strings
   Modern 5A uses increasingly shorter strings, which reduces the number of wraps around the bearing and results in insufficient spin.
   The smaller D-bearing solves this: shorter circumference → more wraps → significantly more initial spin, even with short strings.

2. New SOLID CORE construction
   Traditional D-bearing designs require thin axles and fragile bearing seats.
   SKILFINGR eliminates these weaknesses by locking the bearing onto the axle, not into the shell.
   The result: outstanding durability, strong impact resistance, and stable performance under heavy 5A stress.

3. Optimized size for today’s 5A tricks
   Wider yo-yos provide more stability for horizontals and behind-the-back elements,
   while smaller diameter improves precision for chopsticks and tight mounts.
   Through extensive testing, the ideal dimensions were found:
   56 mm diameter, 54 mm width.
