“With EXPLOSiON, the main question was simple: what kind of YoYo do I want in my hand when every hit has to count on the competition stage?
At just over 50 mm wide, you get a huge catch zone, while the 7075 aluminum body and stainless-steel rings provide plenty of stability and spin reserves. What matters to me is that it still does not feel sluggish. EXPLOSiON simply gives you that extra bit of confidence when you are attempting tricks you really want to land under pressure.”
At 50.09 mm wide, EXPLOSiON sits firmly in the extra-wide category of modern competition YoYos. That has a very practical advantage: there is significantly more room between the halves to catch the string during mounts, hops and fast direction changes.
This can be especially valuable on stage. Under competition pressure, not every throw and movement is perfectly clean, so the generous catch zone gives you more margin for error on demanding tricks.
The body is machined from 7075 aluminum and paired with stainless-steel weight rings. This allows a significant amount of mass to be positioned toward the outer rims, giving EXPLOSiON its strong stability and powerful spin reserves.
Despite its width and power, the weight distribution is tuned to keep the YoYo agile and precisely controllable. That balance makes it particularly effective for long competition combos: plenty of confidence without unnecessarily slowing down fast movements.
The performance setup combines our string-centering Pixel Bearing with proven iRiNGS Response Pads. The bearing helps keep the string toward the center of the gap, reducing unwanted friction during long tricks.
The iRiNGS stay comfortably out of the way during your combo and deliver secure, reliable Binds when it is time to return the YoYo.
No matter if you are a collector or competitor, old-school vintage yo-yo fan or new school, professional or beginner: iYoYo is your yo-yo - or as we Germans say: Dein YoYo.
iYoYo is the brand of European Champion Dave Geigle - aiming to "create yo-yos with top-notch quality at reasonable, fair and afforable prices. We want to see iYoYo in the hands of as many people as we can, not just in those of the wealthiest."
