Alpha Sapphire AR – an aluminum hybrid between monometal and bimetal

“What makes Alpha Sapphire AR interesting to me is the material combination: instead of traditional heavy stainless-steel rims, it uses a 6061 aluminum body with harder 7075 aluminum outer rings.
That gives it extra rigidity, stability and punch without immediately creating the extremely rim-heavy feel of many steel bimetals. The result is a very agile performance YoYo with plenty of reserves.”

Two aluminum alloys – why?

Alpha Sapphire AR combines a 6061 aluminum body with outer rings made from 7075 aluminum. 7075 is harder and more rigid than 6061, allowing July YoYo to add structure and stability exactly where it is most useful.

Unlike a traditional bimetal with dense stainless-steel rims, this construction does not create such an extreme outward weight shift. That difference defines the character of the AR.

More punch without losing agility

Alpha Sapphire AR combines the direct and controllable feel of an aluminum YoYo with an extra layer of stability and spin reserves.

It remains comfortably maneuverable through quick direction changes and technical sequences, while the 7075 rings provide more substance when a combo starts getting long.

That places AR in an interesting middle ground between a traditional monometal and an uncompromising steel bimetal – ideal for players who sometimes find either extreme a little too much.
